All You Need is Love with Gen Dornying (31 May - 21 June)

Each and every one of us longs for lasting happiness and freedom from painful feelings.

The great Indian Buddhist master Shantideva taught widely that all the happiness there is in the world arises from wishing others to be happy. Essentially, to be truly happy, love is all you need!

In this 4-week course Gen Kelsang Dornying will give practical and inspiring instructions on how to cherish others and how to deal with the difficult ones! With peace and love in our hearts our relationships will become more rewarding and long lasting and we will develop the qualities that make us feel good about ourselves, such as compassion, empathy and kindness. These qualities are essential if our world is to survive these turbulent times.

Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully with Gen Dornying (weekly)

We are alive, therefore we will die.

This is the simplest, most obvious truth, yet few of us have come to terms with this fact.

Once we do, we’ll find the energy to use our life in a meaningful way, and to help others through this very natural process.

Join us online as Gen Dornying continues to give commentary to the book Living Meaningfully, Dying Joyfully by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, an invaluable handbook to help ourselves and others and become free from trivial worries and concerns.

Although this class is run sequentially, you can join anytime.

Dealing with Sadness & Depression (weekly)

According to Beyond Blue 1 in 16 Australians are suffering from depression, and 1 in 8 have anxiety.

Buddha explained all the techniques for dissolving feelings of sadness, despondency and hopelessness. Initially temporarily, but with practice and perseverance they can be eradicated permanently.

In this time of great uncertainty, it’s more important than ever to add a spiritual dimension to your life. By studying and practising Buddha’s teachings, steadily and patiently, we can free ourselves from all manner of painful emotions.

A Complete Guide to Meditation with Natalie Eichelmann (weekly)

Without inner peace there is no real happiness at all. Problems, suffering and unhappiness do not exist outside the mind; they are feelings and thus part of our mind. Therefore, it is only by controlling our mind that we can permanently stop our problems and make ourself and others truly happy.

Our Thursday night drop-in course, a complete guide to meditation, will present twenty-one Buddhist meditation practices, actual methods to control your mind and experience lasting inner peace. It will also teach on how to prepare for meditation and transform everyday life into a spiritual path.

The course is based on the New Meditation Handbook by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso. This extremely practical guide is an indispensable handbook for those seeking happiness and meaning in their lives.

Take some time out every Thursday evening to kick start your meditation practice.
